Icarus & Miriam represents a significant cross-cultural cinematic endeavor—a feature-length screenplay that weaves together themes of exile, redemption, and human connection against the backdrop of contemporary refugee experiences and personal transformation.

The screenplay explores profound themes through the intersecting stories of Icarus, a man seeking refuge from his dark past on the Greek island of Ikaria, and Miriam, a Syrian refugee who finds herself stranded on the same shores. Their meeting becomes a catalyst for examining questions of belonging, survival, and the possibility of renewal.

The story's ambitious scope spans multiple locations—from Syria and Turkey to Greece, Paris, and London—while maintaining intimate focus on character development and the universal human experiences that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries.

Originally conceived by Marteinn Thorsson and Dimitris Arvanitis, based on Arvanitis' book "Parallel Lives," the project required comprehensive English language adaptation to serve international production and distribution needs.

The English version development involved extensive editorial work to ensure the screenplay's complex narrative structure and multicultural dialogue translated effectively for English-speaking audiences and international co-production partners.
